The
Skipping Club Doncaster Road Primary School
Mrs. Williams started
the skipping club about two years ago and since then we
have gone every Wednesday after school. We do all different
exercises. The first one we do is jogging round a big square
in the hall three times. Then we do others like jumping
and waving. We play loads of games and the one we play most
is cat and mouse. We play the game like this, you have to
go in partners and one person catches the other while two
people twists either ends. Another game we play is Throw
the Dice where you have a large dice and throw it, then
match the number it lands on to a card and then do that
skip.
In
the Autumn term Tom Davis of the skipping workshop came
to the school to give some advice to our pupils. One of
the games we played was the partner game where there are
two people to hold the ends and two people in the middle
that do as the song says. The song goes like this:
"Back
to back,
Face to face,
Shake your partners hand and change your place"
We
go to the skipping club to get fit and healthy in a fun
way and it takes us away from sitting in the front of the
television all day. It will help us in the present and the
future.
Why
don't you start to go and get fit ?!
