Before
Beginning a Health Project
- Identify who else may
be able to help you facilitate the project. Other
members of the Healthy Schools Team may be able to help
facilitate the project(s). This may also be a practical
way in which to involve parents or other colleagues in
the school. Obviously, it is important that the people
chosen feel comfortable working with young people and
have the time and commitment to support them in their
projects. It may also be that older pupils could undertake
this role.
- Consider the boundaries
of the project.
- Spread the news - Health
project ideas Ensure that the news of
project(s) is known throughout the school. The first session
with young people will allow them to explore some ideas
for health projects. Once the projects have been developed,
it is useful to disseminate this information as widely
as possible. This will be helpful to colleagues and may
even provide support.
