To provide participants with practical, evidence-based information on how to promote a well-balanced and healthy diet in line with the Barnsley Food and Health Policy. By the end of the session, participants will:-
- State the importance of healthy eating
- Outline the development of current healthy eating guidelines/recommendations
- Describe the eatwell plate
- Apply the eatwell plate

Entry Requirements - N/A
Who the course is aimed at - Anyone who
supports healthy eating advice to individuals and groups
e.g. district nurses, health visitors, Sure Start employees,
community workers, teachers, teaching assistants. It is
mandatory that people are trained in The Eatwell training
before the replica foods and mat can be loaned.
Cost - The course is free if you are employed
by Barnsley NHS, BMBC or work in the community/voluntary
sectors. There will be a cost of £50 for all other
delegates.
